Learn Shots With John Schmidt (Videos)

John Schmidt is a champion in every sense of the word. He has numerous titles to his credit including the 2006 U.S. Open 9 Ball Championship and the 2009 One-Pocket Event at the Derby City Classic. Most recently, he added the 2009 Super Billiards Expo 10 Ball Championship to his list of accomplishments. His nickname is Mr. 400, referring to...

his 400 ball run in Straight Pool (14.1). He has since run 403. He is also a truly decent person and I am really glad to count him as a friend. Several years ago I spent about a week with him in Florida to get some coaching. I video taped many of the hours we spent at the table. John was kind enough to give me the OK to post some of this footage to PoolBum. My plan is to create short videos of 1 to 3 minutes each of John describing and demonstrating individual shots (and in some cases of me attempting to execute them).

These aren't highly produced videos as I filmed them on a single stationary digital camcorder. They were only intended to serve as a reminder of what he taught me. However, it seems to me that they might be useful to other students of the game, so I offer them here for the visitors to PoolBum. I hope to post 1 per week as time permits to do the editing so check back whenever you have a chance to see what's new.
