A Charmed Life For One Pool Player

In some ways, I've lived a charmed life. Even the events that could easily be considered a tragedy somehow turned out to be blessings in disguise. In fact, just such a personal "tragedy" led directly to a sweet sponsorship deal to play on the pro-pool circuit for nearly 6 years. It was a magical realization of my ultimate childhood pipe-dream. I might have described it as a fantasy come true if I had ever managed to beat a top player, lol. On my list of articles to write is what it's like for a solid amateur player to find himself playing world class pros like Gabe Owen, Mike Davis, Charlie Bryant, Jose Parica, Scott Frost, John Schmidt and Earl Strickland.

So, here I am in the Philippines (also a cool outcome of something that seemed awful when it happened). I play pool a lot, do a little snorkeling and not much else. Well, that is until a friend of mine suggested (coddled, razzed, pushed and did some hand holding) that I build a pool website. He just happened to have the PoolBum domain names, lol. It has been a huge challenge and promises to continue to be as PoolBum.com evolves into what I am envisioning. If it's true that a labor of love ultimately will have a better and more creative outcome, watch out, this site is gonna rock!
