July PoolSynergy Posts

The July PoolSynergy is a wrap. If you are new to the PoolSynergy, it is made up of many of the best and most committed owner/writers of pool related websites. Once a month a volunteer host will pick a topic and all participants will write about it. This month's shared topic is: Advice to older players who are taking up our sport or coming back to it after a very long lay-off. If you are, know someone who is, or have plans to someday be... older, I have absolutely no doubt that you will find articles of interest this month.
For instance, Jake at Untold Stories: Billiards History is employing a clairvoyant for this months posting to uncover what may be the longest pool lay-off ever. Jake is always full of surprises. Who knew that he even knows any clairvoyants.
Melinda, a regular and appreciated contributor to PoolSynergy at the PoolJourneyBlogspot seeks advice for this post at her local pool room and is surprised by what she hears… you will be too.
Last summer Samm (Diep) Vidal had a great time giving pool lessons at the Rec Center of her neighborhood retirement community. She gives some practical but light hearted advice at the PoolTipJar and shows that it's as easy as 1-2-3 to come back after a long break from pool. I've always felt that Samm's strong presence in the pool world is not only well deserved but a big plus for our community.
If you're coming back to pool after a long lay-off you'll appreciate Mike Fieldhammer's valuable heads-up of how things have changed since you last spent time in a pool hall. Check out his very sound advice at the Billiard Coach.
Jarno from Caroming the Combination Blog gives a warning about taking advice. Hmm, I wonder if you should read this post first or last. Not to worry, I'm sure Jarno wasn't talking about us. Right? Jarno?
All of the participants in the PoolSynergy rely on John at PoolStudent for some words of wisdom. He delivers the goods again regarding attitude and how it can impact your progress and potential. Check it out.
Michael suggests a calm and low stress approach at the Angle of Reflection with advice that can minimize the aches and pains that often accompany a new physical activity.
It's a lot of fun to play in an even match-up with your friends. But if you're like me, that's simply not enough. If you're serious about taking your game as far as you can and are commited enough to do what it takes, check out PoolBum's post.

Thanks for hosting. Great job on the topic and soliciting tips! The article is perfect, too. :)
